YOUR MISSION
We’re seeking a dynamic manager with interest in media and public affairs who will play a crucial and leading role in Italy, helping Glovo to enhance and protect its reputation.
Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs and Government Relations, the Comms Manager will be based in Rome/Milan.
THE JOURNEY
- Lead local Glovo public relations & corporate communications strategy to drive and protect the brand reputation in Italian media
- Lead creation and coordinate execution of PR calendar with key campaigns in general interest media, trade media, and lifestyle publications, & events based on local business and communications objectives
- Be the consumer/lifestyle PR expert, familiar with data analysis for the extraction of insights to guide consumer PR activations;
- Establish a regular cadence of media coverage in local media.
- Manage monthly measurement and analytics to access the success of delivered campaigns and events, i.e. analysis of sentiment, tone of voice, share of tier-1 media and create quality reports
- Prepare briefing materials to support the General Manager and the Heads team with interviews, events and meetings
- Proactively work to protect Glovo’s reputation in issues management. Work closely with Legal and Government relations teams to contain potential crises
- Support the Head of Public Affairs with institutional media relations
- Work on a daily basis with PR and Social Media agencies to create and curate engaging content, deliver day-to-day communications tasks & initiatives and handle requests from journalists
- Support the global team with the execution and localisation of social media content (images, videos) for all Italian social media channels
- Prepare press releases, articles, Q&As, talk tracks for local media touchpoints
- Research and write briefing materials, draft statements and media comments on behalf of company spokespeople.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
Study: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Experience: minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in corporate, crisis management (in-house/agency) with an in-depth understanding of the Italian media landscape and challenges. Tech knowledge/experience is a plus.
Team working: support and leverage Government Relations and Impact & Sustainability/CSR projects and activities and coordination with the PR Global Team (HQ).
Proactive attitude: a doer mentality with the ability to get involved, stay informed and drive impact outcomes inside and outside the organization.
Business mindset: experience in understanding business dynamics & drivers. Work on cross-functional projects related to the different areas of the business.
Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Italian native, English proficiency.
