YOUR MISSION

You will take full ownership of the month-end closing process for our Polish legal entity, ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and local regulations. Crucially, you will serve as the primary guardian of our tax compliance, bridging the gap between operational accounting and statutory tax obligations. You will collaborate closely with local and HQ finance teams, support audit activities and drive continuous process improvement. This role offers a strong opportunity to deepen your technical expertise in both accounting and taxation while enhancing your stakeholder management skills in a global environment.

THE JOURNEY

Month-end closing & financial reporting

  • Lead and complete the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and Polish Accounting Standards (PAS).
  • Maintain the company's accounting books to ensure adherence to statutory accounting rules and tax regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain paperwork for monthly accruals, ensuring all tax-deductible and non-deductible expenses are correctly categorized.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management, highlighting tax implications on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Review income statements and balance sheet discrepancies, specifically analyzing accounts for potential tax risks.

Taxation & statutory compliance

  • Lead the preparation and filing of tax declarations with external advisors, including CIT calculations.
  • Manage VAT compliance, ensuring the accuracy of VAT registers and timely submission of JPK files to the tax authorities.
  • Control and confirm all invoices received and issued, ensuring full compliance with KSeF (National e-Invoicing System) regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and ensure intercompany transactions are compliant with local arm's length principles.
  • Monitor and manage Withholding Tax (WHT) obligations and ensuring proper documentation (Certificates of Residence) is collected.
  • Check all original documents (contracts, acts, customs declarations) to safeguard the company’s interest and minimize tax exposure.
  • Adapt quickly to changes in Polish tax legislation, interpreting new regulations and updating internal procedures to maintain compliance.

Audit, control & collaboration

  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and tax inspections, acting as the main point of contact for tax-related queries.
  • Conduct general audits of all Accounting Ledgers on a regular basis to ensure data integrity for tax reporting.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency, specifically focusing on automating tax workflows and controls.
  • Support the Head of Finance with ad-hoc finance or tax-related topics and projects.
  • Actively collaborate with colleagues, fostering a supportive environment for mutual growth and development.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • Bachelor's Degree from related departments (Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, etc...). CPA or ACCA certification is a strong plus
  • 5-7+ years of experience in accounting or a similar finance or tax role within multinational environments
  • Strong background in general ledger activities and managing full month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • Experience with local accounting practices and tax regulations
  • Skilled in using SAP, along with strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Hands-on experience with financial statements, reconciliations, audits and working with external auditors
  • Able to operate independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and reliability in a team setting
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage financial processes and reporting deadlines
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving tax laws, policies, and compliance requirements
