YOUR MISSION

We are on the lookout for a Senior Legal Counsel - International Employment Law (Couriers) to join the legal team at the forefront of platform work regulations. Help us lead the way through the fast-changing legal landscape of the gig-economy and contribute to shaping the future of work!. 

Join the team that protects and enables Delivery Hero’s growth. In the Legal Team, you’ll support key initiatives in connection with platform workers across different markets and different business functions. Your work will help mitigate legal risks and ensure we’re positioned for sustainable, long-term success— making you a key contributor to our mission of delivering amazing experiences worldwide.

  • You will join a team of international employment lawyers, specialising solely in the challenges of platform work and overseeing courier classification risks across the world.
  • You will monitor high-profile litigations and regulatory investigations and will devise defence strategies in Italy and other markets.
  • You will know our tech stack and delivery operations inside out, and will partner with our Product, Tech and Ops teams to build the next generation of delivery apps.
  • You will stay on top of legislative developments impacting platform work and will become a strategic ally to Public Policy teams, both in our HQ and in our markets..
  • You will be a subject matter expert internally and will act as a source of knowledge to our management and across the Group.
  • You are open to international travel under short notice if necessary (not exceeding 10% of your yearly working time).

THE JOURNEY

  • You are an Italian qualified employment lawyer, and you bring at least 6 years of working experience in employment law matters, ideally combining experience in a reputable law firm, and in-house in a tech company. 
  • You have litigation experience, and you have previously advised on or are passionate about gig-economy and platform-work related matters.
  • You possess a solid understanding of legal and regulatory areas adjacent to employment law, including procedural rules, social security regulations, tax, data protection, immigration, and commercial contracts.
  • People enjoy working with you! You are a team player, an egoless personality, and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You are mission driven, hard worker, and ready to roll up your sleeves and help others with whatever it takes.  
  • You have sound legal knowledge and judgement, you trust it and you have the ability to influence others with it. You thrive in fast-paced and constantly changing environments and are an out of the box thinker.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and Italian, both written and verbal. You have mastered legal drafting, executive communication, and Gslides/ppt presentations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • At least 6 years of experience in the field, with mandatory experience in a law firm and at least one year in a corporate environment. Proven track record in employment law and compliance and/or privacy topics.
  • Native Italian speaker
  • Advanced English (speaking and drafting, you must be able to effectively handle conversations and documentation in legal English)
  • Knowledge of consumer law and some experience in drafting commercial contracts are a plus
  • Knowledge of other languages is a plus 
  • Highly motivated in the world of start-ups and new technologies
  • Problem solver, Multitasking, Thinking out of the box, Organized and detail-oriented person
  • International profile, able to work in a flexible, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment
  • An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude
