YOUR MISSION

We are hiring for multiple teams at Glovo, with diverse scopes, User Acquisition Flow, Courier Fraud mitigation, Order Dispatching system, payments, etc. We are looking for someone that raises the bar in the team, leading initiatives, being a technical reference for other engineers and mentoring them. You will own multiple complex solutions within our iOS domain and understand how they interact with other components at the tribe level. You will lead and align architectural decisions across squads, advocating coherent strategies and best practices. You will collaborate closely with product/design/data to deeply understand user problems and translate business context into technical decisions

THE JOURNEY

  • Take part in every stage of the feature delivery process—discovery, design, implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration.
  • Help update our app to the latest Apple standards: evolve from MVVM+C, UIKit, and ReactiveKit to SwiftUI, Combine, and async/await, choosing the right approach per use case.
  • Beyond coding, contribute to design and UX decisions, quality assurance through automated UI and unit testing, and A/B testing.
  • Make our technology and our team scale as the business grows: simplify systems, reduce operational overhead, and improve developer experience within our domain.
  • Deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that are efficient, observable, and cost-effective.
  • Mentor and empower other developers around you—set the bar for engineering excellence and lead by example.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • An empathetic, inclusive, and curious attitude.
  • Computer Science or similar degree.
  • 7+ years of relevant full-time experience.
  • Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK and Apple’s ecosystem.
  • Understanding of reactive programming (e.g., ReactiveKit, ReactiveCocoa) and modern concurrency (Combine, async/await).
  • Deep understanding of Auto Layout and the ability to create UI from code; practical experience with SwiftUI is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming and software architecture; experience designing for scalability, stability, and evolvability.
  • Ability to write good automated tests is a must (unit, snapshot, and UI testing), plus a pragmatic approach to test strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you simplify by default.
  • Vivid interest in at least one area outside of coding (architecture, algorithms, optimization, automation, scalability, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and great communication skills (we communicate & document processes in English).
LEADERSHIP & COMMUNITY
  • Act as a role model and technical lead for your team; mentor peers and contribute to guild-level knowledge sharing.
  • Improve developer experience within the domain (tooling, CI/CD, observability, documentation).
  • Participate in hiring (interviewing, feedback, and process improvement).
BUSINESS AWARENESS
  • Bring product and industry context to technology choices and understand the impact and trade-offs (including cost) of architectural decisions.
