YOUR MISSION

Glovo is seeking an experienced, versatile, and strategic Lead, Public Policy & Government Affairs to join our dynamic and international team in Barcelona. This permanent role is designed for a professional with deep expertise in policy and government relations who can seamlessly adapt to various high-priority functions within the team.

You will join the team at a pivotal moment for the sector and you will play a role in shaping the future regulatory landscape. This is your chance to lead high-stakes global initiatives, drive real-world impact across diverse international markets, and influence the debate on the future of work and digital platforms.

Reporting to the Global Director, Public Policy & Government Affairs, you will be a pivotal player in protecting and enhancing Glovo's operating environment and reputation across our international markets.

THE JOURNEY

Specific responsibilities will evolve and will be drawn from the core strategic and operational functions of the Government Relations team. 

  • Global Policy & Risk Management: Oversee policy risk assessments and quality assure Government Relations strategies across Glovo’s countries internationally. 
  • Support with Domain Expertise: Contribute to the development of Glovo's global policy positions and advocacy strategies on critical cross-cutting issues like platform regulation, digital services, data governance, and competition. Share best practices and provide a sounding board to country Government Relations managers.
  • Project Management: Take strategic ownership of a portfolio of key cross-functional GR projects, such as the global coordination of a government outreach event or coordinating advocacy around the transposition of an EU Directive.
  • Process Enhancement: Manage and refine existing project and knowledge management processes (documentation, tools, templates) within the GR function to improve efficiency and consistency across global projects.
  • Global Affairs Integration: Lead specific initiatives bridging GR with other corporate functions (e.g. Communications, Impact & Sustainability, Legal) to ensure seamless external advocacy and reputation management.
  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear and consistent communication channels with all project stakeholders, providing regular, detailed progress updates and preparing project performance reports for senior management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • Experience: Approximately 6-8 years of professional experience in Government Relations, Public Policy, Strategic Project Management, or a related field, preferably with exposure to an international environment.
  • Skills Balance: Proven track record of managing complex projects alongside demonstrable ability to conduct policy research and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Policy Acumen: Good foundational understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, particularly those relevant to the technology or gig economy sectors.
  • Project Management: Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com) is essential.
  • Organizational Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail, with proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Language: Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish or German is a plus.
